I couldn’t believe how well these two beers matched our holiday meal. The 3 Monts was a light palette scrubber with some spicyness. The Hennepin was more assertive, but still complementary to the myriad flavors on the table.

Catering a friend’s loft party tonight. The Fall Fest and Phil Collins will be making their last stand.
This one definitely falls into the “beer geek” category, but is a cool tool for any intermediate to advanced brewer.
The Thrumometer is an in-line thermometer for measuring the temperature of liquids flowing from your chiller to your fermentation vessel. Correct temperature of the wort at the time of yeast addition can make a huge difference in the final product, so this seems like a more reliable option than others I currently use (stick-on themometer strips). Made of polished aluminum, it seems durable, fast and accurate (nevermind looks slick too). Suggested retail is $29.99, and can be found at homebrew shops.
This one is on my list for sure.

Holiday Ale X is on its way to the keg. Soon the good boys and girls in the hood might find something in their stockings!
