Andrea’s uncle Milt and aunt Sandee really outdid themselves. Not only did they drive 11 hours for this weekend’s activities, but they brought a growler of Marzen from an Asheville, NC brewery with them!

Knowing how far it traveled to get here, this beer could only be served one way: in a kick-ass cup.

Happy Birthday to all of us!

I’m here in Fort Pierce, FL for the weekend at the “Peach Palace” for a birthday extravaganza.

While I’m turning 35 today, the real attraction is Phyllis Thompson’s 85th birthday celebration. Phyl is Andrea’s grandmother, a great lady who swims 20 laps a day and loves to laugh. She also is known to have an occasional cocktail, but we won’t begrudge her that one.

Andrea’s uncle Milt — a great photographer and resident expert on the Biltmore Estate — also had a birthday recently (Feb. 22, just like Phyl), so we’re all here for some birthday cheer.
