Portland Stop 3: Ringler’s Annex

This is a McMenamin’s pub on the way home from Rogue.

Andrea and I visited this pub during our last trip to Portland back in ‘99. The beer here (rather the Hammerhead IPA) is as good as I remember it. Grapefruit hops and a somewhat balanced finish make this a drinkable beer indeed.

I’m done for tonight. But I’ll hopefully be back for the Brewer’s Festival in July.

Portland Stop 2: Rogue Public House

I’ve moved down the street to the Rogue Public House on 13th Street for a different sort of atmosphere.

The clean, traditional brewpub stylings of Bridgeport have given way to the threadbare, sports bar feel of Rogue. I’m not sure I’d pick this for my favorite pub, but they do have other cool stuff here.

To wit, I’m bringing back some Orange Honey Wheat Ale and a block of Rogue’s organic blue cheese.

Mmmmm. Stinky cheese.
