We’re in the Alberta Street arts district checking out the Last Thursday street fair.
This monthly joint runs about 20 blocks and has all sorts of artsy action: imptomptu musical performances (loads of accordians), street food and artsy yard sale allwrapped into one funky mess. The A is what Little 5 Points could be if we weren’t in the Bible Belt and Virginia Highlands wasn’t next door.
We’re having a late dinner at Mash Tun brewpub, and this is their IPA. This one is hopped using some non-descript northwest hops (likely cascade), and is serviceable, but not special. The IPA at the Kennedy is much tastier (more on that later).
Also of note: the Portland Dept. Of Transportation publishes walking maps of Portland by neighborhood and approximate step counts. We’re at 14,000 steps so far — not too bad — and still have to get home!

After a long night of traveling (and getting into bed at 230am Pacific time), we have arrived at the Kennedy School.
I’ll go into the specifics of the place later, but suffice it to say that the 8 beers on tap here will be enough to placate any lulls in the action.
We’re not sure what the day holds, but the sun is shining and the high temp should be near 90 — it can’t get much better.
