Beer report: Georgia Dome

Beer report: Georgia Dome

Our friends David and Lenore are out with us tonight watching the Falcons-Jaguars game.

Tonight’s beers were courtesy of the Taco Mac under south end zone. Everyone pictured is drinking Atlanta’s own Sweetwater 420, 20 oz for 7.50. I’m working on a Pilsner Urquell (same price).

Not having been to a game in years, it’s good to see we’ve got decent draft beer options, even if they are a bit pricey.

Dinner in SoHo: Markt

Dinner in SoHo: Markt

I’m having dinner with a colleague in Nueva York. Imagine my surprise to find a Belgian restaurant around the corner from our meeting!

It’s called Markt, and sits at the corner of 9th Ave and 14th St. Besides having six different preparations for Les Moules, Markt has a strong Belgian beer list.

On draught: DeKoninck, Leffe Blond and Bruin, Hoegaarden and Stella. In bottles: Rochefort 8 and 10 (!!!), and about any other notable Trappist ale, save Westy. Karmeliet and decent lambics, too.

I’ve gotta run. Moules are here!
