The saying “when it rains, it pours” certainly applies to air traffic in Atlanta. To wit, my return from a DC business trip will be delayed by about 12 hours (!!!) on account of crummy weather in Atlanta.
Awesome.
After going in and out of security *3* times, I finally found a place to drown my soggy sorrows — Foggy Bottom Brew Pub. It’s a little off the beaten path (for Delta fliers anyway), since it’s down by Continental at gate 12.
To call it a brewpub might be a bit of a misnomer, since there is very clearly no beermaking on the premises. The entire footprint of the pub holds 15 or so 2-tops and a bar that seats a dozen. Combine that with the airport location (high rent and transient customer base), and you get what should be properly called a bar. Granted, there are the eponymous Ale and Lager options that are made in the District, but there are Dominion beers from VA on tap as well. At best, this is a timid attempt at being a better beer bar.
FWIW, The Foggy Bottom Ale is an OK choice. Cheers!
