Atlanta Cask Ale Festival, Part 1

Lucky me! My friend Mark had an extra ticket to this afternoon’s CaskĀ Ale tasting at Sweetwater Brewing Company. so, here I am getting my drink on.

Cask ales are different from regular beers in that cask ales are typically served via grvity feed (without CO2 forcing beer from the keg), and at a slightly warmer temperature (45-50 degrees) to allow other more complex flavors to develop.

I’m enjoying a Brown ale from Brooklyn Brewing Co. — and this is a wonderful example of restraint in a world of double-hopped, oak-conditioned extreme beers.

Thanks to Mark for the ticket and to Darcy for the ride home!

Atlanta Cask Ale Fest, Part 2

No Electric Boogaloo here. Just Rooney and Mark acting cheesy (or munching on it anyway).

The beers are good, and the Celtic band is rockin’ out in the background. More later when the action gets nuttier.
