David and Stephen are working this morning, which means I’m off playing (or in this case, drinking). Today’s stop is In de Wildeman, a well-stocked bar just off the Spuistraat.

It’s earned some interest as one of the better beer bars here, and I think it’s deserved. The draft list has a nice mix from around the world: LaTrappe Dubbel, Witte Trappist, Flying Dog Doggie Style, Andechs Weiss, and 13 others. I’m enjoying a local brew: De Prael’s Johnny, a hefty Kölsch that’s quite refreshing, despite the heavier alcohol content than this style usually carries.

Being the first one here doesn’t make the bar look as lively as it is in the evenings, but this would be worth hitting any time of day.
