Atlanta Cask Ale Festival, Part 1

Lucky me! My friend Mark had an extra ticket to this afternoon’s Cask Ale tasting at Sweetwater Brewing Company. so, here I am getting my drink on.

Cask ales are different from regular beers in that cask ales are typically served via grvity feed (without CO2 forcing beer from the keg), and at a slightly warmer temperature (45-50 degrees) to allow other more complex flavors to develop.

I’m enjoying a Brown ale from Brooklyn Brewing Co. — and this is a wonderful example of restraint in a world of double-hopped, oak-conditioned extreme beers.
