This is two trips in one -- my friend Jay's first trip to Ireland, and our first pub crawl with an established crew of Dublin crawlers from work. I suspect it will get ugly, especially in Dublin. To show you what happens, photos of the trip are being published to the site in real-time from Atlanta and Ireland using my trusty T-Mobile Treo 600, the Flickr photo service and WordPress software.

We’ve arrived at Dublin’s airport, and are waiting for our plane to board.
Curiously, there is a US Customs station here in DUB. So since we just cleared customs, technically we’re already back in the US! Too bad there is still 4,000 miles of ocean between us and being home.

One more beer and we’re done for the trip.
After strolling around Temple Bar, we found the area’s only brewpub: The Porterhouse.
We’ve started with Irish Stew and Beef + Stout, and a round of stout samplers. Jay likes the XXXX Stout, while I prefer the Oyster Stout.
The Irish musicians are playing in the background…this does not suck.
One little surprise that Aitha (our tour guide) had for us after the bog visit — a wee dram of Irish Whiskey.
Since I haven’t visited the Jameson distillery, this is my first dram in Ireland. (Oh, a dram is 2 centiliters, or almost 1 ounce.)
As you can see here, Jay is trying to play coy while enjoying his second dram.
