If you’ve been here in the past four years or so, now you’ve probably noticed some changes to the way the site looks and acts. It was high time for a refresh, so here it is! Among the more notable bits:
- New graphic design and layout. The page is quite a bit wider, which should give modern monitors more to see, but might crap out on less modern browsers (sorry, Mom!). For those of you fans hitting the site via mobile phone, we’ve got something for you too.
- Photo archives are being ported to and served out of Flickr. The migration of locally hosted photos to Flickr sets will take a little while, but the hard coded libraries are still there (if you know the URL, or come in via a search engine). For now, there are a few photosets up and running.
- The new look is also compliant with Wordpress’ (the software powering the site) new technical schema, which should make it easier to maintain going forward (not like you care, but it’s good for me!).
- The Brewery Visits map is back (finally), and better than ever.
- My new mobloging tool of choice is an iPhone, which should improve the quality of the photos from the road. I’ve been using it for almost two months now, so you might’ve even already seen the difference.
- Social bookmarking links are now at the bottom of every post, so we’ll see if it impacts traffic to the site.
Look for more good stuff in the coming weeks, including a moblog from Asia and other goodies. And, as always, if you have any feedback, leave me a comment!
Cheers!
